A monthly meeting on law and order was held in Shalla Upazila of Sunamganj.

The meeting was held at 11 am on Thursday (25) September in the Upazila Conference Room.

In the law and order meeting, Upazila Executive Officer Piyas Chandra Das presided over the meeting, Upazila Army Team Commander, Jamaat-e-Islami representative, BNP Upazila Convener, BNP Upazila Joint Convener, Agriculture Officer, Police Station Officer-in-Charge, Anti-Discrimination Student Coordinator, Habibpur UP Chairman, Ansar VDP Officer, Journalist Bakul Ahmed, Jamiat-e-Ulama Islam Upazila President Maulana Ekram Hossain spoke, demanding the arrest of the killers of the district vice-president, requesting to refrain from immoral activities including DJ songs in liquor boxes during Durga Puja. The speakers said that there is a consensus to work for the overall welfare of Shalla by maintaining law and order with the cooperation of everyone regardless of caste, religion, and color during Durga Puja. They agreed to protect natural fisheries, life and diversity.

The Army team commander and police station in-charge said that we have given our emergency number in every puja mandab and if there is any problem, please inform us. Besides, we will continue patrolling day and night.

Also present were Fisheries Officer, Youth Development Officer Ataur Rahman, Assistant Education Officer Abu Raihan, journalists and electronic media.
